Greetings all bloggers!
Please extend an invitation to your parents and friends for Thursday evening's presentation. Mr. J. and I would also appreciate you asking your parents if they would be willing to volunteer as chaperones for any or all of the night.
Last Othello question - we have discussed this in class, but please give the following some thought. So far we have read Othello and Romeo & Juliet. Would either of these work for the production for next year? Our next play is The Taming of the Shrew for those of you who would like to get a jump on the reading.
See you tomorrow. FYI - rehearsals are going very well for the first days - good work everyone. Remember to schedule to come and be in the audience at some points.

well i think that both of them would be appropriate, if i had to pick a favorite of the two, i would have to say Romeo and Juliet. just because i hate Iago and his evil plotting. but i know that we have put Romeo and Juliet in the recent past, and it's not always the best to repeat yourself too quickly... but then again there's only so many Shakespeare plays. ha. so that in mind. i still am going to vote for Romeo and Juliet.
ReplyDeleteWell, my vote goes to Romeo and Juliet as well. I think that Othello would be a good choice, but I think that Romeo and Juliet would be a better choice for next year. Othello isn't my favorite Shakespeare play, where as Romeo and Juliet is. I think that it would be a good choice for the particular senior class coming in next year. I think that Romeo and Juliet will attract a large audience as well.
ReplyDeleteWe did Romeo and Juliet too recently to do it again. I'll stop there so that I don't get into a lengthy rant about how much I hate that play and why.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Othello, I don't think that it's a wise choice, either. We'd have to pull to many strings to make it work.
I think we should do a history! Henry the fifth?
