Hello everyone! So today in Junior Shakespeare, the make up committee started working on ideas. None of them are final, and we discussed changes, but we want to be sure to have some sort of idea of what we were working with. We talked to costume committee and they gave us colors that a few characters were going to have and we worked from there. Senior Shakespeare, please let us know what you guys have been working on! We want to put our ideas together and make them bigger and better! If you have any questions on what certain make up ideas we were having, that would be awesome. I would like to know what you all have in store as well:)

Hello everyone! Today I showed Junior Shakespeare Make up committee how to do aging with the lovely Avalon Ludwig and Ryan King as my guinea pigs. They were fast learners and I think they will have a lot of fun! -Carmel

  18. what different colors are you thinking of doing for the different families?
    Kennedy Stram =)

  19. Our colors for the families are more natural colors for the Montagues, and hard, smokey eye looks for Capulets. We need to start practicing our ideas on the actual actors and seeing how they look on stage. so if any of the actors are willing to let us do their make-up next class, please let us know.

Last Committee day we practiced Lady Capulet's make up idea on a fellow Make Up girl, Chelsea Linn. I guided them through the process. It's still a little rough but it will be great with practice:)

Today we practiced some make up ideas on Avalon Ludwig (nurse) and Bri jones (Death). Our ideas weren't the best, but we quickly learned from our mistakes and Fergie gave us some feedback so we can quickly make the changes. What we were thinking for Bri, was to highlight her cheek bones and nose, but contour her chin, cheeks, and the sides of her nose using a dark brown. As for her eyes, perhaps a smokey brown winged up. For the Avalon, we aged her and put her hair in a bun with some loose tendrils. For her eye make up we did a magenta and light pink along with white in the corners. We're thinking LOUD for the mouth so a bright color that really stands out would be best. I really hope we can work on something with the senior class. PLEASE give us your feedback and ideas.

  23. I am glad that we are practicing the ideas on the actors and seeing it actually on stage.it changes my views a lot.

  24. Carmel, sounds good so far! I'd like to see what you come up with for Bre. And as for Avalon, try and stay away from pink! If you need to, make it more along the lines of purple or another color. But try and stay away from pink!

  25. So, last time we actually got to put make-up on the actors themselves, which really helped with the visual aspect of the work. We put make-up on Brae, and Avalon. We also saw what Avalon would look like on stage, and found that make-up looks completely different under those lights! So we altered the make-up to our liking. Feeling more and more accomplished everyday.. :) Let's keep up the good work, guys!

  26. Today I put make-up on Mimi, who's most likely gonna be the prince. Fergie likes it, so all is well. :) Everyone stayed busy the whole time. We even grabbed some of the other actors that are playing posse members, and did their make-up. We just need some time where all the actors are available!

Bri's make up came out wonderfully and Fergie loves it! The junior make up committee worked their butts off today and we got so much done. Everything is really going smoothly:) I talked to the Senior Shakespeare make up committee, and they weren't so sure about some things, but I plan on coming in a few times a week so that we can collaborate ideas and make sure things stay in the time era and the make up schemes fit with the actor's story and personality. I think this will help a lot! This way we aren't worrying about what the other class is doing:) Great job, junior class for really putting you effort into the work today:)

    Hello everyone!
So now that Winter Break is among us, I thought I would ask a favor of you to do in your free time. It would be amazing if you guys could brush up on your 1920s beauty tips. Just to see "Oh hey, we could add this to the prince's make up/posse members/lords and ladies." Also, Mackenzie Esmond (Lady Capulet) is planning on getting a bob cut. So this would be a GREAT opportunity to look up how to do finger curls. That look was BIG back then. And it's a tight and sophisticated look as well, so it should fit with her character. Another thing or Lady Capulet, is that her husband is abusive and Fergie wants her to have bruises on her body. Look up for to make bruises with make up and let me know what you find. This is going to be so cool to get to do all of these things. I hope you guys have a great break:)

So last committee day it was more of a discussion day than really doing much. We talked about things we could do for showcase, different ideas for Juliet's make up and all though it was a little under productive, we still got a lot of things planned and set. I came in eighth period to talk to the senior make-up committee about what they had planned for showcase, and they all agreed with the idea of taking pictures of the make up for detail and having actors stand on stage with the make up on. I also taught the majority of them how to do aging (with the help of Mackenzie Esmond) and a few of them practiced it themselves, and got to look at the appearance of it on stage. I think they were really into it and enjoyed themselves. It was nice to see that some of them were really taking this time and i appreciated that they were willing to let me teach them.

  30. Excited to hopefully do some make up on actors tomorrow during the second half of the period so that we can start getting ready for the showcase :)

We've already taken photos of two possible showcase displays. Since actors have other priorities, Fergie gave us the idea to put the make op on ourselves just to test the waters a bit. We're hoping that next week we can pull aside actors and get started on them (especially Bri and her death look) to display. Senior Shakespeare, PLEASE give us your ideas so that it is easier for us to work together on this. I know a lot of you might think that I'm bossy, but I'm trying to get things going, and if you aren't telling Junior Shakespeare anything, we don't know anything.
