Hey guys! Here's the list that the Senior class came up with for fund-raising. :) If you have any other ideas tell me. :)
-Bingo Night and Silent Auction -Bake Sale at Lunch -School Spirit face paint (need AWESOME design) -Gift Basket Auction -Holiday Cards -Mini Golf Marathon! (Talk to Shop class or something?) -Pictures with Santa! -DOUGHTNUTS -Donation -Bracelets! (I'll have to explain that one)
Just an FYI you can't sell food items during lunch because it would be in competition with the school lunch. This is for all fundraiser dealing with food. And if you were not aware you need to clear all fundraisers with Mrs. Schaffer.
Logo ideas going well, lot of productive feedback from our group, and a couple ideas for a possible back stage video series, as well as, some teaser posters. Facebook and twitter page opens tonight, keep your eyes peeled for them :) possible design contest on Facebook ;)
Ok no. We need to discuss this kind of stuff before we finalize decisions. You can't forget about the Senior committee. And design contest for what? Aren't we supposed to make the designs?
Dear Alanna, the decisions were never finalized. we only said that we had ideas. hence the term possible. The design contest would be a contest to generate interest in the show and also help us design a shirt. We would choose the victor and perhaps offer a free shirt. We never left out senior committee, we only wanted to pitch the ideas.
OK folks - let's make sure that you are being supportive of each other. This is the brainstorming part of committee work, not the final decision. We are supposed to be working together, and the juniors came up with a wonderful idea that you need to be open to. A design competition is open to anybody - inside the class and outside. I think if you want to do this, it should be the teeshirt, and then the class can design the poster, program and flyers. What do you think? Ultimately it is your decision - but we are under a time constraint. Fergie
The logo ideas sort of sifted down to this, but it seems they're still working on some more for the t-shirt:

It's a simple wonky spiral that is supposed to represent the "gathering storm" directing metaphor. I like it, but I couldn't decide between the three variations I have. What do you guys think?
Our idea for a flier: instead of just being a smaller version of whatever poster(s) we settle on, we can print an invitation to the party in act I, scene 5.
Also: it seems like we've been focusing on advertising and you guys have been focusing on fund-raising. I'm totally fine with this if you guys are, but maybe we should shoot for a better balance in the future? I don't know, I'm wishy-washy.
Today we came up with a tee shirt design that we will share with the senior class. also we wrote out the contest for he logos. we talked it over with Fergie and again will talk to the senior class about that too. I'm feeling good about this. It's coming along nicely. :) -Sierra
Relating to previous comments made on the page where you guys were talking about fundraising. What exactly was the fundraising going to be for? ~Brittany
hey guys, been reading over this blog and it is a little hard to know what's going on with logos when there is no visual. are they being posted to facebook? if so, what is the name of the group?
Wait where is the logo design? I don't see it. Today in class we talked about the idea for having an open contest for the tee shirt! Everybody seemed to love the idea so should we post it to Facebook and go around to advisorys ? How are we getting the contest idea out?
Hey Marketing Committee! So for the Showcase if you guys are going to be handing out the teaser posters/ save the dates to the audience you should have the final copy done by the next committee day so we can have them completely ready for the Showcase!
Junior committee. Is there anyway that we could find a way to share visuals? I can start a facebook page for those of you that have accounts http://www.facebook.com/pages/Newberg-high-school-shakespeare-marketing-2012/282584365132792?skip_nax_wizard=true . As a side note, Leo and I went through the tee shirt designs and marked the ones that we liked. Fergie has all of the submissions. some of the are pretty spectacular
Guys we have the poster design, but now we have to start thinking about the banner design and where's a good place to put it in Newberg. If you have any ideas reply. -Leo
Hey Marketing!
ReplyDeleteWe should definitely start bringing examples for shirt designs and flyer designs for this week!

ReplyDeleteMason: You know how a URL works, right? Just paste the line that starts with "http://" into the address bar. Otherwise, nobody has posted any visuals.
